Ethiopia
This African country is where many respected Paleoanthropologist and Archeologists believe humanity originated. The reasons or evidence behind Ethiopia being the "Cradle of Mankind" can be drawn from the fossils discovered in this region. Lucy, the best known example of Australopithecus, is one of the oldest fossils of human remains to date and was recovered by Paleoanthropologist Donald C. Johanson. Lucy dates back to 3.2 million years ago and unlike chimpanzees and other primates, Lucy walked on two legs. Moving on two legs suggests that mankind's ancestors went through a transitional phase to get into the form that humans have taken now.
